Hammers triumph on the road
STRONG PERFORMANCE: Joonas Kylmakorpi
STRONG PERFORMANCE: Joonas Kylmakorpi

Wolverhampton Wolves 41, Lakeside Hammers 49

HAMMERS produced a superb performance to pull off an emphatic victory in the Midlands on Monday evening, ending Wolves' unbeaten home record.

They came on particularly strong in the second half of the Elite League meeting, which at one point looked as if it would be a close run thing.

In front of the Sky TV cameras on a slick track affected by a Monster Truck meeting on Sunday, Hammers came from six behind at one point to pick up three points for an away win.

Though Swedish superstar Andreas Jonsson was not at his best, the meeting saw the continued resurgence of Joonas Kylmakorpi and rest of the Hammers team all chipped in.

Wolves finished on a high when Niels-Kristian Iveren led home a 5-1 heat win to record a personal maximum for the evening.

Captain Adam Shields said afterwards: "This season away wins are going to be crucial and after a performance like tonight, everyone looks good and feels good."

Wolverhampton Wolves 1. Fredrik Lindgren 7+2; 2. Ales Dryml 7; 3. Niels-Kristian Iversen 15; 4. Kenneth Hansen 0; 5. David Howe 7; 6. Christian Hefenbrock 3; 7. Nikolai Klindt 2+1.
