LAKESIDE Hammers will not be riding in the Elite League play-off finals.

Already effectively 20 points down from the first leg of their semi-final at Wolverhampton last week, Hammers failed to make any inroads into the visitors' lead in the return at the Arena-Essex Raceway.

Hammers were beaten overall 106-84 by Wolves despite winning nine of the 15 heats on the night.

Sadly they failed to pack efficiently enough to pick up maximum points consistently.

Wolves now go on to host Swindon Robins in the first leg of the final next Monday with the return in Wiltshire a week later.

Swindon were given a tougher fight by Coventry Bees before winning 100-88.
