EXPERIENCED Polish rider Krzysztof Jablonski will be the surprise addition to the Lakeside Hammers speedway team as they take to the track in the biggest meeting in the club’s 25 year history, the first leg of the Elite League Grand Final, this coming Monday, October 6.

Jablonski replaces Lubos Tomicek in the Hammers line up and will fly into the Country on Monday morning ahead of his debut. Equipment will be provided by Jason Crump, whose Polish workshop is at the Pole’s home, and the Australian GP star will be providing Krzysztof with the machine he rode to a maximum for the Belle Vue Aces at the Raceway last month for Monday’s meeting and his Poole bike in the return, which takes place at their Wimborne Road circuit .

Co Promoter and Team Manager Jon Cook commented on this team change stating: "This is the final roll of the dice for us. We wanted to line up in the Final without guests and that’s what we have done. I have moved Jonas (Davidsson) to second string to take the pressure off him on his comeback a little and I think Krzysztof will be a considerable gain in the second leg over Tomicek, although he will do well to match Lubos' or Kauko’s (Nieminen) home scoring. The final will be decided over 30 heats, not 15, and we need to have something extra at Wimborne Road even if it means sacrificing points at home."

Jablonski is still an asset of the Wolverhampton promotion and Lakeside wish to extend their thanks to Chris Van Straaten and to Jason Crump for their help over the past 72 hours.

The revised Hammers line up is 1. Andreas Jonsson, 2. Leigh Lanham, 3. Rider Replacement for Adam Shields, 4. Jonas Davidsson, 5.Tomascz Jedrzejak, 6. Ricky Kling 7. Krzysztof Jablonski.

The action gets underway at the Arena-Essex Raceway at 7.30pm.
