SPEEDWAY: Lakeside skipper Ben Morley took the fans Hammer of the Year award at a packed Hammers end of season social.
The Southend-based rider was unable to attend as he was riding as a guest for Plymouth, but his father Mark accepted the award on his behalf from Clerk of the Course Diane Allmark.
Morley also scooped the Steve and Sandra Gibbons Rider of the Year award, while Jason Edwards took the October Rider of the Month.
Hammers number 1 Zach Wajtknecht took the Management Rider of the Year, presented by the Hammers Community Manager Mark Sexton.
The club offered its thanks to the members of the Hammers Social Committee for organising the event and Russell Keetch & M. Shuttlewood Ltd. for their support.
The Hammers would again like to thank all of the riders who have represented the club in 2017, Ken and his track staff team, and all other backroom staff.
