FOOTBALL: GRAYS Athletic have successfully won their appeal to the F.A to play in the RymanPremier.
The original ruling dropped this proud 120 year-old Club 4 divisions from the Blue Square Premier down to the Essex Premier League, a demotion that could, arguably, have left the Club in danger of folding.
However, Chief Executive Andy Swallow joined by his legal team and Life President Glyn Jarvis successfully fought their case at the FA.
Mr Swallow said: “I am delighted. To be fair, you must give the FA their due. They listened to us, gave their advice. However it only took them twenty minutes to come to their decision.
“We would like to thank everyone who has supported us.
"The fans, especially, have been tremendous. However, we are not gloating. We now get our heads down and face a new season.
“We will be playing at East Thurrock next year. We have pre-season friendlies to organise and much to do.
"But for now, we are all going off for a quiet drink to celebrate.”
