Frustration for Dicks

First published in News

GRAYS boss Julian Dicks was still smarting after his team’s defeat at Cambridge at the weekend and loss to York in midweek.

He said: “At Cambridge we applied ourselves quite well but switched off at vital times that cost us two goals.

“For the second week running we went into the break 2-0 down.

“We emphasized the importance of the next goal and with a bit of luck and better finishing we would have done that and the game could have changed in our favour. As it was, a mistake from Glyn resulted in Cambridge getting the third goal and the game was over.

“Glyn has been excellent for us and there was no blaming after the game as he has saved us on many occasions.

“We finished the game with a very youthful looking team and can take positives on how these players applied themselves.”

Against York on Tuesday night Grays had another nightmare, this time being beaten 4-0 at home on a night most Grays fans will want to forget.

There looks like being little let up on the misery for Grays Athletic who host Kettering on Saturday while on Monday (April 5) Grays travel to Luton. Kick off is at 3pm.

Fixtures: Hayes & Yeading v Oxford Utd, Rushden & Diamonds v Crawley Town, Salisbury v Ebbsfleet United. Saturday: Altrincham v Kidderminster, Eastbourne Boro v Forest Green, Gateshead v Cambridge Utd, Grays Athletic v Kettering, Histon v AFC Wimbledon, Mansfield v Wrexham, Stevenage v Luton, Tamworth v Barrow.
