GRAYS Athletic go to fellow strugglers Eastbourne Borough’s Priory Lane tomorrow and will be praying that they can conjur up some points.

And, despite their rock bottom Blue Square Premier league position, Grays boss Julian Dicks believes that his injury-free squad could come away with something. Although Grays are yet to win on the road this season — Dicks is aware that his side won their encounter with Borough 1-0 earlier in the season... before he took over. And he’s hopeful of doing the double.

“We drew with Hayes and Yeading last weekend and I was happy with that clean sheet. We worked for each other, challenged well at the back and the midfield players were good.

“It was different against Kettering where they were battering us with crosses. We have to play for each other and work hard.

This week Dicks saw a Grays first team side square upo to the reserves and he said he was impressed by one of teh goal scorers, triallist Chris Mamboo, adding “he is somebody we can work with.”

The other first team scorer was 19-year old midfielder Sam Letchmere.
