Enfield Town 2-0 Grays Athletic
From the Queen Elizabeth Stadium II
Ryman Premier League
GRAYS Athletic’s young guns put on a brave showing at Enfield Town but fell to a 2-0 defeat.
The defeat was their seventh in succession, six of which have seen Blues fail to score as their rotten end of season run continued.
Grays handed debuts to several of their young stars but they were playing an Enfield side who were full of confidence, having halted the Bognor Regis juggernaut in the week and remaining unbeaten at home since the start of December.
It looked ominous when Enfield got the opener after just six minutes, with Corey Whitely scoring from the penalty spot.
Grays showed periods of promise but could not get the goal they so desperately deserved.
And it was Whitely who wrapped the game up late on to continue Grays’ end of season slouch.
Grays Athletic: Johnson, Richefond, Flavin (Poko), Fuller, Nicholson, Tennent, Ekpiteta (Sintim), Gard, Moses, Little, Osei (Papadimos)
