Kingstonian 2–1 Grays Athletic
From Kingsmeadow
Ryman Premier League
GRAYS Athletic conceded a late goal to go down 2-1 against a hard-working Kingstonian.
Blues had taken a ninth minute lead but they were pegged back before a goal just four minutes from the end of the game saw them fall to defeat, with Joao Carlos shown red late on.
Twenty-year-old Tom Hadler made his first appearance for the club between the posts, in the absence of the suspended Lamar Johnson, and he looked assured.
Roman Michael-Percil opened the scoring after just nine minutes to hand Mark Bentley’s side the lead but they couldn’t hold on to the advantage.
Ten minutes later George Wells got the leveller and Kingstonian looked likely as the half went on.
But the final goal didn’t come until the final four minutes. Andre McCollin, so often a tricky customer on the day, got the goal that lifted Kingstonian to within a point of the play-offs and leave Grays eight points off the pace.
There was still time for Carlos to be sent off, as Grays day went from bad to worse.
Grays Athletic: Hadler, Ifill, Siva, Cronin, Hutchings, Symons, Michael-Percil, Beaney, Dumaka, Davidson, Carlos
