Grays 4–0 Lewes

From Mill Field

Ryman Premier League

GRAYS Athletic returned to winning ways with a thumping win over ten-man strugglers Lewes.

Dumebi Dumaka inspired the win with a brace, after returning to form following a difficult run in which transfer rumours have linked the forward with a move to West Ham.

Having missed a penalty in Wednesday’s defeat to Leatherhead, Dumaka banged in two goals, sandwiched between strikes from Jake Hutchings and James Stevens.

It was Hutchings who scored the first with just three minutes on the clock. A corner was sent in and Hutchings was in the right place at the far post to nod into the net.

A familiar face was returning to Mill Field in Jordan Wilson but he only lasted 20 minutes, as he fouled Dumaka as the last man to be sent off.

The striker scored his first of the afternoon having shrugged off the attentions of Chris Breach on the half-hour mark.

Dumaka scored from a corner six minutes later, following a fine save by Chris Winterton in the Lewes goal.

With the points all but secured, Grays eased off after the break with the only notable action the fourth goal.

Stevens exchanged passes in midfield and buried a drive past Winterton.
