GRAYS Athletic snatched a late equaliser against Staines Town, as they relinquished top spot in the Ryman Premier League.
Blues drew 1-1 with Staines Town, after a late strike from centre-back Sean Cronin salvaged a point for the hosts.
It had seemed as though a goal midway through the first half condemned them to defeat - Luke Wanadio the scorer.
Mark Bentley's men had been beaten by Bognor Regis on Saturday, their first loss of the season, and they struggled against Staines, with Leiston moving into top spot as they won again.
They will now have to turn their attentions to the FA Cup, as they look to avoid an upset against Hullbridge Sports on Saturday.
