VCD Athletic 1-2 Grays Athletic
From the Oakwood
Ryman Premier League
GRAYS Athletic continued their impressive recent form to keep alive their outside hopes of finishing the season in the play-off places.
Goals from Dumebi Dumaka, on the stroke of half-time, and skipper Kenny Beaney, eight minutes from time, handed Mark Bentley’s sides the points in Kent against the relegation strugglers - their fourth league win in five games.
Nick Reeves had equalised for the home side midway through the second-half.
It was Grays second away win this week, after the 2-1 win at Bognor Regis Town on Saturday and completed a fine week in which Blues also made the final of the Ryman League Cup.
After the match, Bentley tweeted: “Quietly going about our business, picking up some wins and narrowing the gap! Not our best performance but it’s all about winning now!”
Although Grays are 14th in the table, they have a nine points gap over the side below them and are only five points off fifth-placed Met Police with a game in hand.
Grays Athletic: Gough, Morrison-Derbyshire, Parry, Leader, Siva, Wilson, Beaney, Ferguson, Stevens, Dumaka, Carlos
