Harrow 2

Grays 2

NON LEAGUE: BLUES are kicking themselves after surrendering a two goal lead at the weekend.

Grays’ Earlsmead clash looked to be in the bag as they led by two goals only to have the lead cut and in the end the visitors were forced to hang on. And just one Ryman Premier point is not what the visitors wanted at the weekend.

There was a very late chance of grabbing all the points, but this came to nothing. Harrow started strongly but were surprised when Grays found the back of the net in the 19th minute.

A great cross by Helge Orome was met by Leroy Griffiths who tapped the ball in. At the other end, Borough’s Rob Wolleaston tested Grays keeper George Kamurasi.

Grays score again with 31 minutes on the clock when Orome snuck the ball to the on-form Joel Nouble who stabbed home.

Blues looked to be cruising, but this chanced with less than six minutes of the second half gone. Harrow were awarded a penalty after Kamurasi brought down Marc Charles-Smith. And the player calmly slotted the ball home from the spot.

The equaliser came in the 70th minute when Charles-Smith netted again, this time with a powerful header.

Harrow had their tails up in the last 15 minutes of the match and looked likely to grab it.

Even though – with just seconds left – Nouble came close to beating Harrow keeper James Shea and taking the match.
