GRAYS ATHLETIC: WITH the pitch at Chatham’s Sports Ground ground having recovered significantly enough from the wet and stormy weekend weather, Grays Athletic were all set to play just their fourth competitive game of 2014 – until a floodlight failure led to the match being postponed.
Blues’ Ryman League Cup quarter final clash with Chatham had been switched to the Kent side’s ground. The plan was to try to take the pressure off Ryan Kirby’s Grays whose fixtures had been backing up at Millfield following the wet weather of recent weeks.
Grays have not played a competitive game since Tuesday, January 21 when they lost 2-1 to Bury Town.
Chatham and Grays are due to try and play the cup game today (Wednesday). The winners are set to face Maidstone in the semi-final.
