THE MATCH: East Thurrock United face yet another side targeting a play-off finish tomorrow when Welling United make the trip to Essex.

Rocks have not won in the league since January 20 and were beaten 2-0 by Hemel Hempstead Town on Tuesday night as they bid to secure the six points manager John Coventry believes will be enough to keep them up.

Welling have won five of their last seven league games to put themselves firmly in the picture for a play-off place.

But, despite Rocks’ recent troubles, the Kent outfit will be mindful of what happened in the reverse fixture.

THE INSIGHT: “We need to do what we did well that day if we want to have a chance,” said Coventry. “We worked very hard and we needed to as they are a good side. They are technically good and have good players with good movement.

“I wouldn’t say we are in a good place at the moment. We got three solid draws but we went to Hemel, who are a team that will let you play, and we were poor.

“Complacency and attitude is a problem. You only see them three times a week and you need to rely on them to turn up in the right frame of mind and win the game. It does show its head and I believe the players should not need motivating. They are so talented and they are capable of winning matches.

“We had the right attitude in the reverse. We had such a great start and without that start I would be very concerned, but this is basically the same squad.”

THE TEAM NEWS: Ben Marlow is unavailable, one or two new players may sign.
