EAST Thurrock United were held by 10-man Bath City as their search for a league win went on.
Without league top scorer Sam Higgins, Rocks were looking for goals from elsewhere but it was Bath attacker Jack Compton that almost forced the opener – driving wide when well placed.
Bath did get the first goal of the afternoon just after the half hour. Compton’s fierce corner was deflected somewhat fortuitously onto the back of Jack Batten’s head and it beat Lukas Lidakevicius.
Rocks started the second-half impressively and were level inside five minutes.
Montel Agyemang continued his excellent form by striking home for the equaliser, having been left all alone in the penalty area.
Sean Rigg slammed an effort wide for the visitors before Rocks were handed a boost.
The Bath central defender was sent off for a second bookable offence, East Thurrock were in control and Bath needed Luke Southwood to make an excellent save to keep out Agyemang as he burst through one-on-one.
But, despite dominating the final stages, they couldn’t force the winner.
