EAST Thurrock United earned a much needed point on the road to share the points with Weston-super-Mare.

It could have been so much better as Rocks led 2-0 after 20 minutes, but the play-off hopefuls scored twice before the half was out as the points were shared.

Rocks had conceded seven in their last league away game but struck an early blow in Somerset.

Sam Higgins sent his header back across the goalkeeper to hand East Thurrock the lead in just the sixth minute of the game.

And one became two 15 minutes later.

Montel Agyemang, restored to the starting line-up, netted a blistering second from the edge of the penalty area to put Rocks in dream land.

However, that deficit was halved two minutes later when Gethyn Hill's neat flick found the net.

East Thurrock were desperate to hold out until half-time, but conceded again with the whistle looming.

This time is was Kristian Scott who rolled the ball beyond Lukas Lidakevicius.

Into the second half Joe Christou almost opened his account after some neat footwork only to be denied, but a point apiece was a fair reflection of the game come the final whistle.
