THE MATCH: East Thurrock United’s bid to cure their away day blues continues at Weston-super-Mare tomorrow.

Aside from a 3-0 win against Welling United, Rocks’ form on the road in the league has been horrendous in recent times, with four of the last five away scorelines reading 4-0, 4-0, 5-1 and 7-2.

Manager John Coventry has made changes to the squad in the last seven days and he is hopeful of a good display against a talented Weston outfit.

Weston have lost just one of their last seven fixtures at home and saw off Rocks’ neighbours Concord Rangers last weekend.

Currently lying in 10th place, the Somerset outfit are just four points off the play-off positions ahead of the clash.

THE INSIGHT: “We trained last night and we will make sure we are ready,” said Coventry. “I have watched a video of their game against Concord last weekend and it will be difficult.

“They were a good side at our place, although they have lost a very good player in Dayle Grubb [who joined Forest Green Rovers].

“They play attractive football although they, like many teams, have to contend with a difficult pitch at times.

“We have been well beaten on the road in recent weeks and if you get turned over it can shatter confidence. But it is weird as we have picked up some really good results among it all - drawing at Spennymoor. It doesn’t make much sense.

“I am hoping the weather is okay as we don’t want another postponement but we will deal with whatever happens.”

THE TEAM NEWS: Simon Peddie remains at Tilbury, while Max Cornhill has a tight groin.
