EAST Thurrock United were big winners against Whitehawk as they maintained their good recent form.
Rocks were expected to be comfortable winners against the division’s bottom side but Whitehawk landed the first blow.
Nathaniel Pinney put the home team ahead inside 10 minutes before Sam Higgins, restored to the team after suspension, hammered the home team level.
The hosts continued to press but the away team were providing a stubborn rear-guard action.
The third goal of the game came from an unlikely source, Ryan Sammons striking in to the net two minutes before half-time to put East Thurrock ahead.
And the same man doubled his account on 55 minutes to put the home team firmly in charge.
Tom Richardson continued his excellent form when he scored the fourth goal of the afternoon for the hosts with 15 minute remaining.
Gold Omotayo scored a late consolation as Rocks wrapped up the points.
