EAST Thurrock United battled back twice to secure a hard-fought draw against Hungerford Town.

The home side came into the clash off the back of two heavy defeats on the road, although the Berkshire outfit were a different proposition on home soil.

And so it proved as the hosts took the lead with 15 minutes on the clock.

Nicholas Bignall got the goal, finishing well under pressure.

But Rocks, unbeaten on the road this season, have been a tough nut to crack and were level before long.

Sam Higgins, so clinical from the penalty spot, took advantage of a penalty award by the referee to level matters on 32 minutes.

All square at half-time, Hungerford retook the lead three minutes into the second-half.

Ian Herring scored for Hungerford, with the hosts playing well in front of a good home attendance.

Back came Rocks, and the match was all square once again on the hour mark.

Max Cornhill netted and that was how it stayed.
