NON-LEAGUE: East Thurrock United, Thurrock and Aveley all secured pre-season wins as they continue their preparations ahead of another busy season.
Rocks defeated Maldon & Tiptree 2-0 on Saturday, with two trialists on target for John Coventry’s men against the Isthmian North outfit.
Thurrock eased past Clapton, winning 5-0 in their second match of pre-season.
And it was a result that pleased manager Mark Stimson, pictured right.
“It was another good workout for the players and to score five goals and not concede was a bonus,” said the Isthmian North side’s manager.
Aveley were emphatic winners against Essex Olympian side White Ensign.
Jake Gordon scored a brace, with Jordan Peart another on target for the Millers.
Tilbury were on the wrong end of a 1-0 scoreline against Hythe Town.
A much-changed young Dockers team conceded after 15 minutes and couldn’t get back on terms in Kent.
