TOM Wraight scored his second hat-trick of the season against Truro City as East Thurrock trounced the Cornwall side 5-1.
Wraight was influential as Truro failed to deal with a four-minute second half onslaught which saw Rocks find the back of the net three times.
But the visitors took the lead midway through the half - Andrew Neal’s near post header going through Lukas Lidakevicius’ legs.
Rocks equalised 10 minutes later as Wraight pounced on some poor defending to go through one-on-one and rounding the goalkeeper to shoot into the empty net.
East Thurrock took the lead just before the break - Wraight crashing home from inside the six-yard box after Truro were unable to clear a Ben Marlow cross.
After half time, East Thurrock continued their dominance and almost scored immediately but Wraight’s strike hit the post.
Ex-Southend midfielder Kane Ferdinand got the third goal from a rebound before Wraight clinched his hat-trick in the 65th minute with a fantastic solo effort.
Just a minute later, Marlow added his name to the scoresheet as his cracking effort from 30 yards out found the bottom corner.
East Thurrock United: Lidakevicius, Freiter, Nesbitt, Burns (Walker), Ellul, Wood, Harris, Ferdinand, Higgins, Marlow (Craddock), Wraight (Gardner)
