l RUNDOWN: East Thurrock United will be looking to win back-to-back matches in the National League South for the first ever time when they do battle with Weston-super-Mare tomorrow.

Rocks won 1-0 at Oxford City last time out and will be confident of building on that result against a team who have really struggled in recent times.

Weston won their first three games of the season but have not won since, losing nine and drawing one to fall to 18th in the standings.

East Thurrock have impressed in defence so far this season, with Joe Ellul and Michael Clark forming an excellent partnership that has conceded only 15 league goals to date - the best of any outside the top seven.

l MANAGER’S VIEW: Rocks boss John Coventry said: “We played well against Oxford and it was very nice to get the late goal. There wasn’t much in the game and it was a very good cross from Tom Wraight for Walks (James Walker) and he deserved the goal as he does the ugly stuff very well.

“Weston are a very good footballing side and have a new head coach (Scott Bartlett) and he will have them organised. They have lost nine on the bounce but that isn’t in my head.

“The players will all be eager to impress their new manager so we need to play our game and do the basic things well.

“All I hear is good things about them. We need to turn home draws into wins. We have equalled our best start in the last six seasons and that is excellent.”

l TEAM NEWS: Teddy Nesbitt should be available after missing the Oxford game, captain Sam Higgins has returned to training, but he will not be rushed back.
