Lewes 1-1 East Thurrock United
From the Dripping Dan
Ryman Premier League
EAST Thurrock ended their best ever year in the Ryman Premier League with a point at Lewes, as they turn their attentions to the play-offs.
Rocks will take on Tonbridge Angels in the semi-final on Thursday night, the side they breezed past 3-0 just last month.
Ahead of the game Rocks could still overhaul Bognor Regis Town into second, as long as they won and Bognor dropped points, and they made the ideal start.
Sam Higgins struck after just nine minutes to put the away side in the ascendancy but they were unable to hold onto that lead.
Fifteen minutes later Henry Muggeridge sparked Lewes into life as he had the beating of Lukas Lidakevicius to level the scores.
However, with Bognor comfortably winning, Rocks would still have to make do with second in the standings.
Manager John Coventry withdrew Ben Wood, Tom Wraight and Higgins as the second half wore on, preserving them for the play-offs on Thursday.
And it remained 1-1 as Rocks look ahead to Tonbridge.
East Thurrock United: Lidakevicius, Sammons, Knott, Ellul, Hayles, Wood (Morgan), Scott, Marlow, Higgins (Robson), Ruel, Wraight (Hogan)
