EAST Thurrock United made it four wins in a row as they got the better of Enfield Town.

A Ryan Scott goal was enough for Rocks against Enfield, as he followed up a Lewis Smith effort after just 15 minutes in what turned out to be the game’s only goal.

Although it was the visitors that had the earliest chance of the match. Nathan Livings latched onto a fine ball over the top but by the time the forward got his shot away East Thurrock had players back to shepherd the ball away.

From the resulting set-piece, Livings used the windy conditions to his advantage as he received a short corner and curled an effort back off the crossbar.

Rocks were still looking a threat and they got the breakthrough when, from a free-kick, Smith’s effort was deflected into Scott’s path and he shot into the corner.

Tom Wraight missed a chance to double the advantage although chances were few and far between.

After the break, Samir Bihmoutine broke through for Enfield but was unable to find a team-mate with a cross.

Daryl Robson shot just wide for Rocks in response and it was the home team that were setting the pace as the half continued.

Ady Yusuff worked an opening with Smith, with the latter only denied by a full stretch save from away keeper Nathan McDonald.

And Ben Wood, who normally operates in a defensive role, walloped a 30 yard drive off the crossbar, but one goal was enough.
