THE PREVIEW: Rocks head back to Yaxley tonight, three days after their first FA Cup encounter was abandoned after Kris Newby suffered a dislocated elbow.

Manager John Coventry questioned the official’s decision, with just three minutes of the match left to play on Saturday, but will be hopeful of beating the side from the United Counties League Premier Division this time around.

East Thurrock were unable to break down the team two tiers below them at the weekend, with the game called off at 0-0.

WHAT HE SAID: Rocks captain Sam Higgins said: “Saturday was frustrating for us as the injury happened so close to the end of the game. We would have wanted to finish it but the referee had made up his mind.

“We didn’t play our best, far from it, but we have a chance to put that right tonight. We missed a lot of chances but it was good for me to get back out there after three weeks out.

“We know the draw and it is always nice to get a team who is a division lower as it really gives you a chance to push on in the cup. That said, I know it is a cliché but the cup is full of upsets. There were some this weekend and we need to make sure we are not on the wrong end of one tonight.”
