Arlesey Town 1-2 East Thurrock United
FA Trophy 2nd Qualifying Round Replay
From the Armadillo Stadium
EAST Thurrock United booked an FA Trophy date with Havant & Waterlooville after they triumphed in a replay at Arlesey Town.
The impressive Reece Harris was the stand-out man for Rocks as he scored and assisted in their 2-1 win at the Southern Premier League strugglers.
East Thurrock manager John Coventry had criticized his team for letting a two-goal lead slip twice in Saturday’s 4-4 draw.
But they put that right in the Second Qualifying Round Replay last night, with two well taken goals at the end of the first half.
First Harris opened the scoring, after he ran onto a loose ball to prod the ball over the line and, with a minute to go before the break the advantage was doubled.
Bryant exchanged passes with Harris before twisting and turning to fire high into the roof of the net from a tight angle.
Arlesey rallied but, despite a late free kick from Christian Tavernier, they couldn’t force an equaliser.
Rocks will now play Conference South frontrunners Havant & Waterlooville in the 3rd Qualifying Round on Saturday, November 29.
