A SHERWIN Stanley brace for the visitors ensured that disappointing Aveley lost top spot on goal difference.
Stanley put third-placed Brentwood in front with two first-half goals against a Millers side still hoping to win promotion and beat local rivals East Thurrock to the title.
Ex-Great Wakering striker Neil Richmond pulled one back for the hosts.
But a 69th minute Sam Higgins effort ensured that the Millers suffered a miserable afternoon just two days after boss Rod Stringer won the divisional manager of the month award for March.
