Hillingdon Borough 0, Aveley 1

THE top of the table Millers were made to fight all the way by their basement hosts before collecting the three points that keep them in the driving seat.

The result officially condemns Hillingdon to a place in the bottom two, but they rarely looked like a side that has won just two games all season.

Aveley dominated possession but created few clearcut chances, apart from Jaoa Carlos having a shot tipped round the post by home keeper Ben Harris.

The goal, when it did arrive on 56 minutes, was in somewhat controversial circumstances.

Former Great Wakering striker Neil Richmond fired in a shot that was blocked, but the referee awarded a penalty and Petrit Elbi stepped up to fire home the spot-kick.
