AVELEY boast one of the few unbeaten league records in the country going into their Ryman Division One North Essex derby at Maldon Town on Saturday.
Buoyed by their League Cup win against Premier Division Maidstone on Monday, Millers will be in confident mood against a side who have struggled to make an impression despite promising much in the early season.
Monday’s win has earned Millers a potentially lucrative home tie with Dover in the next round of the League Cup but for the moment Rod Stringer, himself a double manager of the month winner, will be focussing his table-toppers on league success at Maldon, and at early season pacemakers Wingate & Finchley next Tuesday.
The League Cup tie with Dover has been arranged for Monday, January 5, kick-off 7.45pm.
