AVELEY suffered defeat to Haringey Borough in heartbreaking circumstances as home goalkeeper Austin Byfield netted a stoppage time winner.

The Millers led twice at Coles Park, with Alex Teniola bagging both goals for the visitors.

But two goals in the final two minutes turned the game on its head and allowed Haringey to claim all three points.

Aveley took the lead just before the half hour mark when Lewis Gard slipped a pass in behind for Teniola to run onto and the frontman slotted home.

But Derek Asamoah equalised for the Isthmian North play-off chasers seven minutes after the break.

However, Haringey were only on level terms for five minutes as Teniola completed his brace by curling an effort into the corner of the net from the edge of the penalty area.

It looked as though the Millers were going to come away with a valuable win, but James Webster's side were unable to hold on.

Coby Rowe sent a stunning free kick into the back of the net - via the underside of the crossbar - to level matters on 88 minutes.

And in the second minute of stoppage time, Haringey shot-stopper Austin Byfield's long kick caught Millers goalkeeper Rhys Madden out.

Madden misjudged the bounce of the kick and the momentum took the Aveley goalkeeper over the goal-line with the ball in his hands.

The goal gave Aveley no time to hit back and the Millers remain 20th in the Isthmian North.
