AFTER more than 200 minutes of football, Aveley were finally able to book their place in the first qualifying round of the FA Trophy.

A last minute goal in normal time forced the Millers into extra-time at 2-2, but Nathan Koranteng, Paul Preston and Michael Osei strikes allowed the hosts to record a 5-3 win over Marlow in their preliminary round replay.

Aveley, who are still without a manager since parting company with Terry Spillane last Tuesday, were left to settle for a replay at Parkside after the initial tie ended goalless.

The Millers took the lead within six minutes as Preston's cross was headed home by Jordan Watson.

But Marlow hit back on 25 minutes as Jordace Holder-Spooner found the bottom corner of the net from 23 yards out.

Although Marlow took control of the game following their equaliser, Aveley came close to restoring their advantage immediately after the break.

Nathan Koranteng's cross struck the crossbar, while Jordan Peart was denied by a Simon Grant save.

Watson then saw his header cleared off the goal-line by Curtis Chappel.

However, the Millers' pressure paid off as Peart smashed the ball into the back of the net on 51 minutes.

Holder-Spooner then sent an effort onto the post, while Jeremiah Maja also struck the woodwork in stoppage time.

With Aveley seemingly heading into the next round of the competition, Marlow levelled in the third minute of stoppage time.

Marcus Mealing put the ball beyond Millers goalkeeper Rhys Madden after a free kick had been blocked.

And the entertainment was to go up another notch in extra-time, as four goals were scored in 30 minutes.

Eight minutes after the resumption, Koranteng latched onto Maja's pass and smashed into the back of the net.

Shortly after half-time in extra-time, Marlow got back on level terms again as a free kick deflected horribly beyond Madden.

But Preston beat the away goalkeeper and slid into the net with five minutes to play.

And Osei completed the scoring after Watson's shot was blocked on 118 minutes.

Aveley's reward is a first qualifying round tie with Burgess Hill Town.

Aveley: Madden, Preston, Woodward, Coyne, Barry, Twumasi, Gleed (Watkins 111'), Cook (Osei 72'), Watson, Koranteng, Peart (Maja 73')
