Aveley 3–2 Bury Town

From Mill Field

Ryman One North

AVELEY came from two goals down to get the better of Bury Town.

Billy Coyne netted a somewhat fortuitous winner 15 minutes from the end of the second half to secure the points, having trailed 2-0 after 20 minutes.

The Millers started sluggishly, with Bury on top. Ollie Hughes forced a save out of James Marrable and that early warning was a sign of things to come.

Nick Ingram buried a strike from a corner with 10 minutes on the clock, after good build-up from Connor Hall.

Perry Dunn missed a golden chance to level and soon after it was 2-0.

Josh Mayhew found himself in acres of space and he slot under the dive of Marrable.

Two down after 20 minutes, the Millers needed a response and they got a boost five minutes before the break.

An Abs Seymour free-kick deflected off the wall and beat the dive of the goalkeeper.

And Justin Gardner’s team were level two minutes after half time. Dunn atoned from his earlier miss and fired in at the far post.

Liam Nash hit the bar as Aveley searched for a winner, with Brian Okwera’s header cleared off the line.

But they did get the goal they craved as a goalkeeper calamity allowed Coyne’s cross to bounce off his palms and into the goal.
