Witham Town 0–5 Aveley

AVELEY romped to a hugely impressive 5-0 win at Witham Town as they look to end their season on a high.

The Millers are firmly ensconced in mid-table but they ran riot in north Essex, thanks to Alex Teniola, Arian Retkoceri, David Fallah and Liam Nash.

It took just four minutes for the opening goal to come, as good work from Michael Pindy saw Teniola left with the simplest of tasks from close range.

Mason Bloomfield had the best opening of the first-half for the hosts, but his drive, although beating goalkeeper Bobby Mason, bounced back off the post and away from danger.

Nash was kept out by Lewis Down in the home goal with several terrific saves, although Aveley really took off in the second period.

Nash buried a drive five minutes into the second-half, while it took Fallah just two minutes to make an impact after climbing off the bench.

The attacker struck low into the corner to make it 3-0 and all but assure themselves of the points.

Fellow substitute Billy Coyne helped bring about the fourth, as his cross was turned home by Retkoceri, and the fifth was equally as well crafted.

Retkoceri and Nash were involved, leaving Fallah to tap home on the goal line and complete a fine afternoon’s work.

Nash had several late chances kept out by some heroic defending, but Aveley were comfortable winners.
