YMCA Horsham 2-2 Aveley
From Gorings Mead
FA Cup 2nd Qualifying Round
AVELEY will go again against YMCA Hornsham after they played out an entertaining draw with the side from the Southern Combination League.
The Millers had taken a two-goal lead in the match they came into as favourites but were unable to hold onto the lead in an exciting match.
The away side made most of the early running and got the reward their play deserved on the half-hour mark.
James Peagram scored it after he was played through and he finished with aplomb into the corner.
And 10 minutes later it got even better when Liam Nash slotted. Some fine technique from the forward saw him pick up the ball and score with the outside of his boot.
Manager Justin Gardner would have been delighted with that score line at the break but the second-half was a different story.
A goalmouth scramble saw the advantage halved just before the hour mark, although Billy Holland should have restored the two-goal lead only for him to blaze over.
Nash hit the bar as Aveley searched for the elusive third but it wasn’t forthcoming and Horsham profited, Dean Wright scrambling home a leveller against the run of play.
Substitute Junior Appiah was sent off after raising his hands but the two teams will go again on Wednesday at Mill Field.
Aveley: Marrable, Preston, Seymour, Okwera, Harrison, Willis, Nash, Holland, Peagram (Elbi), Prescott (Pearman), Fallah
