AVELEY boss Justin Gardner said their 3-3 draw with Cheshunt on Saturday felt like a win after they came from behind three times, writes Scott Hatley.
Cheshunt player-manager Omer Riza, will have questions to answer as he cost his side a victory by heading in a goal-bound effort from an off-side position that would have given them a 4-2 lead.
From the resulting free kick Aveley’s Aryan Tajbakhsh teed up Petrit Elbi to score and spark wild celebrations.
The bewildering series of events that led to the Millers’ 94th minute equaliser rounded off an astonishing game.
Aveley had 10 men for almost an hour after Nathan Koreteng saw red for a petulant kick out at David Greene.
That incident came after Ted Llewelyn had giving the visitors an early lead, before Teddy Nesbitt scored his first goal for the club to equalise.
Fola Onibuje restored Cheshunt’s lead, Jay Leader levelled, only for Onibuje to score again six minutes from time.
