Solid win for Stanford's scrum Under 15s

RUGBY: STANFORD’S under-15s began their campaign in Essex Division Two with a solid 12-0 win over a much improved Clacton side.
Last season the teams met in a friendly fixture and the Stanford lads won by a cricket score, but a year later the match was much tighter.
The new Stanford boys began to gel with their more experienced team mates, with Grant Hayward and Daniel Frost working hard on their scrimmaging. Connor Houlihan came into the front row in the second half and the scrums were even stronger after he started.
The first try of the day was from David Sopp at outside half after just 10 minutes of play.
The tricky conversion went wide but the score gave Stanford confidence and the lead, which they held for the remainder of the half. Clacton lads worked hard and put some pressure on the visitors but the defence was resolute.
More points were added when Sam Egar at scrum half found centre Sam Moran who crashed through the defence to score under the posts. Jacob Cushing slotted over the conversion.
The final points came from second row Jack Pearce.
