Coaches delighted with club members Crooked Billet showing

BOXING: CHADWELL St Mary Amateur Boxing Club coaches Scot Johnston, Paul Smith and Jimmy Hart took 14 youngsters to the Crooked Billet in Stanford for inter club sparring. The event was hosted by Thames Gateway ABC on Saturday.

Junior head coach Smith was delighted with Chadwell’s showing.

On the same day elite level fighter Kieran Redding, 20, (60kg) was the first Chadwell boxer on Southend’s ABC’s show. Redding fought three, three minute rounds against Cheshunt’s Dave Leo, 29. Redding went on to outbox the strong Leo and the Thurrock man won the bout on a majority decision. The victory showed why Redding has been selected to be looked at closely by the England Squad. Team Chadwell are hoping to travel to Gothenberg in Sweden from next month to compete in the Angered Box Cup Tournament. A strong team of 10 boxers have been selected to represent the club in this prestigeous annual competition.

Senior Boxers Female ABA champion Valerian Spicer (57kg), Hollie Martin-Wood (54kg), Elite Boxer Kieran Redding (60kg), Elite boxer Jack Healy (67kg), Ben Davey (54kg), Lance Toussaint (64kg) and junior boxers Shea Nightingill (52kg), Three nations Champion Levi Lee (54kg), Jay Healy (44kg) and Jake Healy (42kg).
