League campaign starts at the Rec

RUGBY: Stanford 1sts started their 2012/13 league campaign with a hastily rearranged game when Writtle were unable to host Stanford so the game was switched to the Stanford Rec.
Writtle having been relegated from Essex 1 last season were clear favourites against the bottom side of Essex 2 last season. The Stanford 1st team were determined to upset the form sheet and it has to be said played a controlled game that so almost left them with a win.
But in the end the match finished 36-41 to Writtle.
