BOWLS: THE Thurrock Area Ladies Bowls Association held its competition finals at the President’s Club green at Corringham Rec. In the home and away triples Drums beat Thurrock 53-35. In the pairs event Linda Cooke and Michelle Squires, representing Thurrock BC and Sue Watson and Carole Riley of Springhouse clashed – with Springhouse the winners.

And in the Secretaries/Treasurers Comp finalists Carol Strong of United Services BC was beaten by Carole Riley of Springhouse. In the Triples Comp United Services beat Aveley 24 - 11. In the Fred Bromley mixed pairs the finalists were Angie Ings and John Copeland (Aveley) who were beaten by Carole and Pat Riley (of Springhouse).
