Speedway action for Lakeside
9:33am Wednesday 12th September 2012 in Sport
SPEEDWAY: The Lakeside Hammers complete their Elite League campaign this Friday, 14 September, at the Arena Essex Raceway when they face Play Off rivals, the Peterborough Panthers.
The race for a top four finish in the League table will go to the cut off date of 19th September and for the Hammers to be in contention they will need a win on Friday.
The Hammers Co Promoter Jon Cook commented: "The last few weeks have been tough but the signs of a return to form are there and we know this is our last chance to qualify for the Play Offs. The Panthers will aim to wrap up their place in the top four with a win and we expect one of the meetings of the season; a great way to complete the League campaign."
The Hammers field an unchanged side to the one that raced to the win over Coventry at their Arena Essex Raceway in front of the live Sky Sports cameras on Monday evening whilst Peterborough have named a team that includes their recent signing Ryan Sullivan, who last rode for them in 2008 having originally ridden for them back in 1994, their two Poles, Krzysztof Buczkowski and Norbert Kosciuch, Swedes Tomas H Jonasson and Linus Sundstrom, Dane Michael Jepsen Jensen plus Jason Bunyan, who also competes for Rye House in the Premier League.
