Gemma Holloway gets tips from Olympics stars

ATHLETICS: GRAYS teenager Gemma Holloway got tips from some of Great Britain’s Olympic stars, including double gold medallist Mo Farah.

Holloway, 15, met the stars while on a week-long training camp in Twickenham set up by the organisers of the London Marathon.

It brings together the most talented athletes from across the country for a week of training, both on the track and in the classroom.

The athletes picked were ones judged to have potential to make future Olympic Games.

Holloway, who runs for Thurrock Harriers, was able to watch Farah train and join a question and answer session with British middle-distance stars Andrew Osagie and Ross Murray, plus American 1,500m Olympic silver medallist Leo Manzano.

Holloway’s mum Julie said: “Although the week was hard work, Gemma said she was able to keep going where others struggled. She really enjoyed the experience and came away very positive.”
