Paul Hall scores maiden 50 for Belhus

Harlow 4th 133 ao

Belhus 4th 137-5

CRICKET: PAUL Hall made his senior debut back in August 1986. For much of that time, he had been an effective medium-pace bowler, but on Saturday he racked up his maiden half-century after 26 years of play.

He reached the landmark with a match-winning boundary hit – a classic on-drive straight out of the coaching handbook. Helping Belhus overcome the Harlow total were Jim Robertson and Connor Elliot with 24 and 20 respectively.

Earlier, the visitors had been restricted by the devastating seam attack of Paul Whitlock, who dismissed no fewer than seven Harlow batsmen at a cost of 53 runs from 15.4 overs.

Elliott Playle, Joseph Clarke and Lee Hawkes shared the remaining three wickets despite the best efforts of Jack Davies, who scored 44 runs.
