NON-LEAGUE: CONCORD continued their pre-season campaign with a 2-0 win over a youthful Southend United XI at the Aspect Arena.
New recruits Danny Spendlove and Chris Bourne were on target for Danny Cowley’s side on Saturday.
And across the island, CANVEY beat Mark Wright’s Essex United side 5-0 at the Prospects Stadium. Jay Curran, Kirk Hudson, James Hawes, Ryan Edgar and Danny Heale were on target for the Gulls in front of a crowd of 513 at the Prospects Stadium.
Rob Swaine was on target as Billericay beat Lowestoft Town 1-0 at Crown Meadow.
Town’s skipper headed against the post then finished the rebound just before the interval to score the only goal of the game.
