Great start to season for bowls club

BOWLS: Drums Bowls Club based at Blackshots have enjoyed a succesful start to the season.

Alex Browning in his first season at the club has reached the County Final in the Two Wood Singles and has qualified for the National Finals at Worthing for the first time.

Chris Muir has reached the finals of the County U25 singles together with another Thurrock youngster in Mitchell Young of Corringham based Springhouse.

Serena Madgewick who is currently the Junior Sussex Singles Champion has returned to Essex and is in the Essex County U25 Girls Singles Final, and has paired up with her clubmate Stacey Fryer in the Junior Girls Pairs and also reached that Final as well.

Serena has also teamed up with June O'Neill in the senior ladies pairs and reached the quarter final stage.

With many other competitions still on going, the club is looking for further success in the coming weeks and welcomes bowlers of any experience to join them at their Blackshots green.
