Speedway Sunday will be big event

SPEEDWAY: The Lakeside Hammers are proud to be staging a major FIM event at their Arena-Essex Raceway this Sunday, May 27, when the FIM Speedway World Under 21 Team Cup Semi Final takes place.
This Semi Final will be contested by four Countries comprising of five riders in each team and will be raced over 25 heats.
The four Countries taking part are: - Australia, the Czech Republic, Denmark and Great Britain with only the winners guaranteed a place in the Final, which takes place in Poland at the beginning of September. The Poles are seeded straight into the Final along with the winners from this Semi Final and the other Semi Final, which is scheduled to take place in Abensberg, Germany next Monday. The remaining place in the Final will go to the highest second placed scorers from the two Semi Finals.
The Great Britain team will comprise of:- Lakeside Hammers sensation Richie Worrall, who has put in some superb performances since joining the Hammers Elite League side prior to the start of this season. Richie also competes for Newcastle in the Premier League and Stoke in the National League.
Steve Worrall, who is Richie’s twin brother, who also competes for Newcastle in the Premier League plus Scunthorpe in the National League.
