FOOTBALL: LAKESIDE under 10’s lifted the Chelmsford Youth football League Cup in Whitham.
In an epic final battle with Focus Ferrers, Lakeside’s Aiden Goncalves scored a fantastic goal in the second minute, with Harry Baker sneaking the second goal five minutes later for the 2-0 win.
Lakeside keeper Jack Walker put in an excellent performance. This game heralded his return to playing following a recent broken wrist.
Under 10’s manager Phil Harrington said: “This is a fantastic end to our best year yet, we opened the season with a win at the Southend Catholic United FC tournament; and have finished top of our league undefeated.
