Warren fishing latest

FISHING: A COLD night and hard frost on Sunday morning had a big saw on the result of the latest match at the Warren.
Northerly winds of up to 35mph forced most competitos to fish either the quiver tip or shot on the pole at the Stanford lake.
First place went to John Musson, who battled the elements to catch 25lb 2oz of bream and tench from peg 18 using pole and pellet baits.
Frank Vickers used the quiver tip and meat baits from peg four to claim second place with 22lb 14oz of bream and tench. Vickers just pipped Paul Moxey, who also sat in the face of the wind on peg five. He landed 22lb 8oz of bream and skimmers using quiver-tipped meat and boilie baits.
The top three anglers swapped positions during the course of the match due to all anglers losing quality fish due to the weather conditions. There will be no Sunday match at the Warren as the venue is holding a club event.
But the walk-off matches return on Sunday, April 29. Contact Mick Noakes on 07855 558693 for more details of the Sunday walk-off matches.
