Stanford Cons in race with Grays Cons on snooker table

SNOOKER: THE battle at the top of the league between Grays Cons and Stanford Cons B, continued when both teams came away with 5-1 victories over both Springhouse teams.

Now with a four point lead and still a game in hand, it looked almost certain that Grays Cons will be crowned this years league champions, leaving last years winners, Stanford Cons, to concentrate on runner up place, where they are currently three points above third place Aveley Ship, who only managed a draw against Aveley Village.

Two frames each from Steve Hawker and Will Fraser, helped Tilbury CC to a 4-2 win over Grays WMC, a result which left Tilbury not having lost for three games.

A heavy defeat for Rileys, when they lost 5-1 to Stanford Cons A in a match that saw four frames go to black ball games.
