FOOTBALL: AVELEY Youth’s Under-9 Falcons team are having a great season.

They are doing well in Thurrock’s Thundermite Mercury League and also through to the semi-final of the League Cup.

But team manager, Faye Lambert – the Essex FA’s Get into Football officer for the borough – is looking for a new defender for her team.

Lambert said: “We have been together since 2009 and I’ve kept the same players which has been great. They are a lovely bunch and really supportive of each other.
